It takes the form of the chariot of Surya (Arka), the sun god.

In local language 'Daria' means 'Sea' and Mahavir is another name of Lord Hanuman. The temple is located on the left side of the Chakratirtha road leading from Subash Bose Chowk to Penthakata.
